At long last, we're out of our beta period and RVCare Logbook 3 is out now on general release!
I know it's been a long time coming. There have been three things that caused this long development period:
This was someone else's app originally. I liked the app so much that when the previous author, Jim Smith, retired, I took it on as I didn't want to see it fade away. For anyone who bought it from Jim, this version is entirely free for you, I have not charged you a cent.
This was previously a 32-bit app. I'll not get all techy but suffice to say that apps are now, usually, 64-bit apps. In fact, Apple's latest macOS won't even run 32-bits app at all. So it was a huge effort to get RVCLB rebuilt for 64-bit.
Data compatibility. We all had years of data from the previous versions, right? Throughout this rewrite, data compatibility had to be maintained. It probably would have been a lot faster to just start again. But I didn't want to lose my data anymore than anyone else did!
So, I hope you like RVCare Logbook 3. Thank you for your testing and bug reports. That's not to say that more bugs aren't in there, software development never really stops. So continue reporting bugs to me at email@example.com and I will do my best to fix them.
But we now move to thinking about improvements and new features and I look forward to chatting to you about my ideas and hearing yours.
Enough chat, let me download it!
