Sorting non-numeric fields: Click the column heading for the column to be sorted. On the first click the column may be sorted either in ascending or descending sequence. Clicking the column heading again will reverse the direction.
Sorting numeric fields: Clicking the column heading will not sort correctly.
Use menu Record -> Sort… as shown below
