Dropbox and RVcare Log Book

Bill McFall, a Discovery Motor Home owner and a user of RVCare Log Book sent me the following email. He has given me his permission to post it here:

Jim Smith,
You are right, Jim. I am running RVCare Log Book with the data base file on DropBox [Note 1]. The data file is NOT on stored on my computer; it is stored on DropBox. This allows me to use or share the same data file on three different computers. Any data input from any of these computers is available on any of the other computers. Drop Box does the synchronization for me; but I have never tried to access the data from more than one computer at the same time.
As an example: If I have a tire replaced along the road I can enter the data on my net book computer before I loose the papers containing the DOT numbers; and, when I get home, the data is already there for my use on the desk top computer for analysis or for printing.
The architecture of the computer is not a problem between the versions of Windows or the Bit length of the computer. I have not tried to use my Windows data file on a MAC machine.
1.    my desk top computer at home is 64 bit Windows 7 computer.
2.    My net book computer in the motor home is 32 bit Windows 7
3.    My lap top computer at home in my ham radio station is Windows xp

Note 1.
DropBox is a free service and a free download for Windows, Mac, Linux and Mobile that lets you bring your photos, docs, and videos anywhere and share them easily. It is available on www.dropbox.com. I have been using DropBox for a while with my genealogy software, LEGACY.     Using DropBox allows me to go to a library (or any other computer); and using my password, I can access/update my genealogy data files, as long as I have my password.
DropBox gives you 2 GB of free memory space; and you can get an additional 250MB for each person who signs on using a recommendation that you send them.   DropBox is explained on their web site with a good video.
